About your therapist
Maria Corridore has been an Occupational Therapist for over 20 years. She specializes in treatment of the shoulder, arm and hand as well as treatment of chronic swelling. We are accepting new patients for virtual therapy and for in-person therapy in Southern Maine in York and Cumberland counties.
Maria has treated hands her entire career and achieved the specialty credentials of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) over 10 years ago. This credential designates excellence in the field of hand therapy and is an elite group of Occupational and Physical Therapists. She is one of 7000 therapists in the United States and one of 36 therapists in the state of Maine that hold this specialty certification. To achieve this credential, Maria has proven advanced competency and proficiency in treatment of diagnoses and issues of the upper limb resulting from trauma, disease, or congenital or acquired deformity.
Maria has been a lymphedema specialist treating issues of chronic swelling for nearly 20 years, acquiring the specialty credentials of Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) in early 2005. She has advanced training in treatment of diagnoses resulting in chronic swelling of the whole body, including the head and neck. Maria is trained in Complete Decongestive Therapy including manual massage, application of wraps and is a Certified Fitter for custom compression garments.
Our services include evaluation and assessment of the upper extremity, individualized treatment planning to fit your needs and lifestyle and education for adaptations and/or equipment suggestions to make life easier for you. Our in-person services also include custom splinting for elbow, wrist and hand as well as lymphedema treatment and garment fitting as needed.
