Meet your therapist…….
Maria Corridore, MS, OTR/L, CLT, CHT
I first received an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from Maria College in Albany, NY in 2001. After that, I went on to further my education at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, receiving my Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2003 and my Master Degree in Occupational Therapy from Sage Graduate School in 2004.
I started working as an Occupational Therapist at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY, where I treated inpatients in acute care and outpatients with hand injuries. I became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist while working in the Adirondacks in 2005 and started treating patients with chronic swelling issues.
I then went to work at The Hand Rehabilitation Center at Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany, NY, where I was exposed to repetitive stress injuries, elective and traumatic surgeries to the hand and arm on an outpatient basis. I was privileged to mentor under Master Clinicians in Hand Therapy to grow my splinting skills and taking on more challenging diagnoses.
I next went on to treat patients in need of sub-acute rehab as well as long term care, in my hometown of Schenectady, NY, working with geriatric patients and the general population. All along, I continued to treat patients with chronic swelling and hand injuries.
I returned to outpatient therapy working in Alamogordo, NM, treating a wide range of patients needing specialized hand therapy and lymphedema management. Feeling a desire to return to the Great Northeast, I moved to Southern Maine to setup and work in a hospital based specialty hand therapy clinic.
Now, starting my own specialized outpatient Occupational Therapy Private Practice, I look forward to helping you achieve your goals. Whether you have issues with chronic swelling, or you injured your shoulder, arm or hand, I am here to help you!
